Frequently asked questions
What is SpazaPOS?
SpazaPOS is a retail software system for running sales, stock, pricing, reporting, orders, and day-to-day store operations across the till, Back Office, and supporting online tools.
How is licensing positioned for stores?
SpazaPOS licensing is per till. Base setup includes 1 Back Office plus the first till, additional tills are licensed separately, and larger till counts can qualify for lower per-till daily rate bands.
Which parts run on desktop and which parts run in the browser?
The main till and Back Office run as Windows applications. Web Orders, Packing, Stock Take, Manager Dashboard, and Customer Display run in the browser so staff can use them where they make the most sense in the business.
Can web orders be taken and then sent to the till?
Yes. The browser web-orders flow captures the order, and the POS includes a Web Orders screen that can load orders marked ready for POS.
What is the packing screen for?
It is for staff preparing or packing orders away from the till. The POS has a Packing Status screen that reads those updates, while the browser packing screen is where staff work through the queue.
Can we do stock take inside SpazaPOS?
Yes. There is a Back Office stock-take form and also a browser-based stock-take session workflow for store staff and managers.
Can specials and promotions be managed centrally?
Yes. The Back Office promotions module supports percentage discounts, fixed prices, multi-buy pricing, and buy-X-get-Y rules, with scheduling by day, date, and time.
Does SpazaPOS support SMS notifications?
Yes. The current product includes SMS support for web-order reference messages and scheduled day-end summary messages when the store has the WinSMS integration configured.
What does the licensing portal handle?
The licensing portal is where stores handle trial access, licensing, renewals, and related account tasks for SpazaPOS.
How are renewals and payments handled right now?
The current model is manual-payment driven. EFT, cash deposit, and Paystack once-off/manual payment flow can be used where applicable through the hosted portal.
What is a perpetual license?
A perpetual license is a once-off license option for businesses that prefer ownership-style licensing instead of shorter renewal cycles. Where offered, it gives the store a long-term licensed setup without the same renewal rhythm as time-based licensing.
